Those are the families that have Samantha Walker's parents, Steve Walker and Rose Vanessa, who are married to different people.

When Steve made contact with dark names, the Walkers had to live a fugitive life with a lot of different names in a lot of different countries. Steve and his family that settled in Rome, Italy lastly got their freedom back with Leonardo Eckhart's help. Thanks to Mr. Eckhart again, Rose Vanessa divorced her husband and started a new life with her daughter in America. Samantha who grew up hating her father got her mother’s surname when she was 16 years old and continued her life as Samantha Vanessa.

Today, Steve lives in Chiago, Illinois with his wife, Diana, and her sons and Rose lives in Worcester, Massachusetts with her husband, Brad, and his daughter. Their own daughter, Samantha, moved to Boston for university and is still living there with two housemates.
